Watering Hole in Jungle Ruins

A submission to a Facebook group I'm in called Sketchbook Fightclub. I had to pick three animals from a list and make a monster that blends the three. I chose frog, chameleon, and komodo dragon... although it ended up looking more like a giant salamander. My roommate called me a cop out for choosing animals biologically similar, but I'm too much of a science nerd to create a tetrapodal creature with feathered wings on its shoulders ... which I'm certain will be submitted a lot...

I haven't decided what media I'll use to color it with, but with me displaying at the "Just Ink" show at East End Studio Gallery here in Houston, I'm leaning towards using either acrylic, watercolor, or pigmented inks.
